arnold layne 11,395
Maybe it is my nicotine, caffeinated-adled brain, but I have found a new appreciation for the Police. Are there any deep tracks I must listen to?
action 147
I've always thought of the police as a band, their career cut short somewhat, weren't fully able to develop themselves musically, much like The doors and Nirvana, or whose lead singer went solo, like with Wham. I had their greatest hits for the longest time, but I guess I grew a bit bored. Listening to them for the first time, is real bliss though. They had an incredibly sense of melody. Come to think of it, in this respect they seem a bit like the nirvana of pop music.

King of Pain is my newest favorite of theirs.
DieselDaisy 453
Sting is actually from my locality. Never trust a maths teacher from Crammy. Two words: tantric sex!

creed 2,907
The Police is cool, when your a teen, but it gets boring pretty fast. Their reunion tour was as bad as GnR's

Doctor Dom 1,896
Stewart Copeland was/is a great drummer. Sting was/is a great singer. I must admit I bought 2 of their albums many years ago and they failed to connect with me...but the hits are all great in my book. Like Blondie's Clem Burke, Copeland's drumming is really "busy" (in a good way) for the rock radio playlists they appear on...I'll enjoy the drums at the very least. John Bonham 25,632
19 hours ago, arnold layne said: Are there any deep tracks I must listen to? They only have five albums, and they are all chock full of hits. The first two are their pure white Reggae albums. The last two are more '80s Pop Rock. The middle album—Zenyatta Mondata—is my favorite. One of the reasons they broke up is that the other songwriters wanted equal representation on the albums, but the other guys' songs are just not as good as Sting's. So, the deep cuts aren't the best tracks. I like: So Lonely, Roxanne, Can't Stand Losing You, Bring on the Night, The Bed's Too Big Without You, Don't Stand So Close To Me, Walking On The Moon
