They're more than capable of creating awesome music. All it requires is a will to do so.

Let's see it objectively: Slash and Duff shat out generic albums and Axl failed on his own

Their last good album (UYI's) required Izzy. Different times you'd say, but this "awesome music" couldn't exist especially not from rich rockstars in their late 50's. Besides Axl will not start from scratch so it will be a clusterfuck anyways. Being generic is also a big concern (i'm looking at you, Slush) . Playing these alleged "new songs" live also shaky, because of Axl's inability to sing properly live

Sure, there will be one or two big "hits" or relatively good songs, no doubt they can pull it off, but as a good album, I don't think so

Any new music from GNR is a miracle so there is that. But objectively, this band is almost as fucking dead as Biden's braincells

Getting your hopes up for a good album is pretty pointless. These are old men, they will not reinvent the wheel and they are lazy (I'm looking at you Axl)

Now this is the Bill Brasky shit I love!! Is it true?   Is it complete horseshit?   Chances are we'll never know, but I love daydreaming about the idea that Axl wasn't full of shit and there really

There's a fuck ton more. This is one of my post you will remember. Axl has so many full songs with vox you would be shocked.   It all is different  too some ballads some industrial and some

Axl wanted  many nugnr albums and promotions    There were multiple times that Duff was back there were ideas and promotions set if Slash rejoined . Non of that however were truly Axl's visi

They did but Slash will be able to leave his comfort zone and create something memorable. At least I hope so.

Debatable.

Well, that says it all...

I hope so too that they can bring out at least 2-3 decent songs which live up to their catalog though. But one thing i've learned in the past 30 years regarding GNR that getting your hopes up is a fucking bad idea overall

Totally agree. It was a total different vibe with Adler. Axl was more into it as well. There are only 4 drummers that i accept in GnR. Sorum, Adler, Hawkins and Grohl.

Axl is the biggest asshole in the industry when it comes to Fan service

But I heard has really funny.....

The show I saw in 2016 was my closure of giving a shit. Since then I’ve just been here for the lols at how they completely squandered the reunion momentum, which they did ten years too late to begin with.

I’ll give a listen to a new album if there ever is one (lol), but my expectations of new material with zero Izzy involvement and/or the likelihood of them just layering Slash and Duff onto existing shit nu guns recordings doesn’t really leave me pumped for that either.

tl;dr, they have my permission to die now.

Is it live as bad as it sounds on Youtube?

I dont wish them death, but they are useless now. And TB would release tons of stuff, if Axl would be dead. We all know that.

And yes. The reunion should have been in 2006. Axl was in shape and VR had success. Since 2008 GNR is boring as fuck.

When I saw them in Pittsburgh, they sounded much better than those YouTube compilations. Axl seemed to be actually trying and the band as a whole sounded great to me then 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Funny thing ismost of the best songs from UYI were from the AFD days, Nov, Rain, Don't, Cry, Estranged, Breakdown, You could be mine etc.   If you really think about it, they didnt really write that many good new songs between 87-91.

Yes, which makes AFD actually the best album ever made, cause they could have released it as a double album in 1987-1988. The first CD would have been Rockers, the 2nd CD ballads like SCOM, DC, KOHD, Estranged, NR, UTLH, One in Million,...

But I think if you combine that generic commercial hard rock sound of Slash and Duff with Axl vocal melodies (songs) you have a GNR album the fans will like.

I think the problem is the artistic statement or theme or point of it. AFD , UYI and CD tell the story of GNR.

But now there’s a new chapter but what are they going to sing or write about?

Or is going to be Slash and Duff adding new songs to Axl songs he’s already got like Atlas and Perhaps. But is that stuff better for a CD box set?

Then they can just do a fun Axl n Slash hard rock album.

Exactly!

GNR's really creative and good period was 1985-1990. They were a band, until Steven got kicked out. Then Izzy left a little more than a year later.

Estranged and Breakdown were written after the early AFD days though. But yeah, most of the material on the UYI's also originated from 1986 then in 1989 and a little bit in 1990

So it's safe to say, GNR hasn't written any good tunes in 30 years (thirty fucking years, people) . Axl tried sure, but that was his own effort only and not a band effort.

This band sucks since late 1991 as a band.

No wonder Axl came out with a horn section with (then) hot chicks, couches, pizza boxes, a greek dwarf who plays keyboards (Teddy Andreadis) and all that theatrics, he just tried to compensate for the lack of band mentality which was lost at very least in 1991 (goofing around and having fun when a camera is rolling is not really mean a band is functioning well. From what we can read about since then, they were fucked the minute they've got really big and the 1988 tour was over)

Estranged was written in 1990 though

Once Izzy was gone, all what the fat three did, was a cover album. And CD wasn't fully written by Axl, since Paul, Josh and Dizwald were co-writers

The only thing I'm interested in is if they put out a new album. Preferably mostly if not all CD era stuff redone by Slash/Duff, but even then I'd prefer just the final, fully mastered and finished Chinese songs from 2002-2006. I'd also like the UYI box set with 5.1 version and higher quality versions of some of the old demos that never got put out officially. But at this point, they could play in the casino 2 miles away from me for free and I probably wouldn't go.
