Duff McKagan’s Last Setember

Recommended Posts

Duff's beautiful new song, inspired by #MeeToo.

"Last September" was inspired by the "terrifying experiences shared by survivors of the #MeToo abuses," a movement that brings together women's denunciations of entertainment industry moguls, especially filmmakers. "As a parent of two girls, I felt the need to make this song," McKagan said. "If I have any role in this world, it's to protect women in my life."

“No she can't remember
They said there's too much pain
It happened last September
From some familiar man
Why, d'she/he have to think about a plan
(And why, if she had been so kind and understanding)
To get away, fight and scream, a frantic plea against the pain
His mom
ma didn't raise a man
He went and lost his temper
He went and lost his brain
Her tears brought his anger
It sent him in a rage
He's blind, what she wore, he said she planned it
He lied to himself, said she could have ran
She said no, he said yes, he took
her down and choked her neck
His momma didn't raise a man
Darkest secrets get released
These manic pigs and their disease
He cries when he gets what comes his way
His momma didn't raise a man
Darkest secrets get released
These manic pigs and their disease
Why, d'she/he have to think about a plan
(And why, if she had been so kind and understanding)
To get away, fight and scream, a frantic plea against the pain
But life goes on, and so will she,
Getting stronger, shedding skin
Scrapes and scars will fade away
Those memories will always stay"

>survivors

I feel left out. An older kid beat the shit out of me when I was 13. Am I survivor?

Yes you are, would you like to share your story with the others? It may help others overcome their own traumas

 Is this the right one?

My dad told me to take those feelings and push them deep down where they'd never come out again.

Doesn't Axl Rose have a history of abusing women?

Legit question. As much as I should be a complete nerd for posting on an 80's band forum, I don't follow the pre-CD era history that closely.

Yes but he settled out of court so he wouldn't face a trial. Only @GUNNER will say otherwise.

Only if the older kid was a white male with non progressive views

However if you’re a white male and the person who beat the shit out of you is not white or is not identifying as male then you were the one in the wrong and the other individual was just a oppressed minority who was just preemptively defending it’s self from your white male privilege.

He was white. He even had blonde hair. I'm gonna say he called me a fag too. You can't prove he didn't. When do I get my biopic?

Sorry but heterosexual white male on heterosexual white male crime doesn’t get the Hollywood love these days.

So no bio pic unless you can prove your a fag.

What about a war? That really could be the answer. Maybe a really bad virus. Rome fell. What’s taking so long?

Has Duff mentioned whether or not his album title was inspired by the Counting Crows? Long September but I feel the November rain this year will be different than the last.

It’s kind of intriguing that Axl always seems to break the titles of band members albums. Like he named Slash’s album Living the Dream at the Vegas Residency and then at China Exchange, David Tang was asking him about Tenderness.

Duff went from being the king of beers to being the king of queers

What evidence is there of Duff being the king of beers ?

Care to elaborate?
