The day Guns N' Roses died was actually December 31st 1995.

Fatal Wounds:

-Firing of Alan Niven, May 1991
-Arrival of Stephanie Seymour, Beta Lebeis and family into the life of Axl Rose, September 1991

-Departure of Izzy Stradlin, November 7th 1991

-Contract signed by Slash and Duff giving Axl rights to the name if he quit or was fired, October 1992

-Rejection of "Snakepit" material by Axl Rose and Duff McKagan, Spring 1994. Rejection by Slash of Axl's offer to work on some of the Snakepit material, late 1994.
-Unilateral hiring of Gilby Clarke in June 1994 and hiring of Paul "Huge" Tobias, late 1994 by Axl Rose.

Post-Mortem injuries making any true revival impossible:

-Departure of Slash, October 31st, 1996

-Departure of Duff McKagan, second week of August, 1997.

You missed Slash's multiple overdoses and a few other things.

Despite Slash's multiple overdoses he was up the next day to tour with Snakepit around the world. Now tell us what clean Axl was doing.

the band probably started to die the first time all four of them accepted axl's bullshit  -- "it's my way or the highway" -- in order to keep the things going

they probably HAD to do that in order to not lose a gig or a tour or the band itself

or whatever it was at the time

i would probably do the same. a lot of us probably would. but in retrospect they should have draw a line

maybe axl would leave and it would mean the end of the band right there and then

maybe not

maybe axl would see that he needed to conform and start acting right AT LEAST inside the band

he could do his bullshit everywhere else

looking back, allowing axl to do what he pleased is what seems to be the hole in the fabric that kept growing and growing until there was not much to do to get back to a "normal" or "functional" band situation

and axl completely took over

i could never follow this nonsense band because of axl hired players but looking at this video i think i'm finally understanding why is that so many people think that 2006 was a good year for axl

axl looks more like 1993 than 2016

he seemed like a completely different person on the loot tour, like "not-himself" type of different

Izzy kind of accepted Axl’s bullshit when he let Slash join the band.

But didn’t Niven try to get Axl fired the first time he no showed? Axl always thought Niven wanted to get rid of him.

Niven actually said to the guys that he would be behind them if *THEY* took the decision to fire Axl

they never did

Slash must have known the benefits of having a crazy frontman.

sure, i am sure they all did

there must be a middle-term though

so you don't have to choose between having a crazy frontman imploding your band from the inside and not having that crazy frontman in your band

perfect scenario would be to have this crazy frontman in your band fully aware that he can not do what he pleases and that he can not piss all over everyone inside the band

just make it clear to the crazty frontman that he can do that everywhere else

except inside the band

(it is very easy saying this now in retrospect)
