those are both great books, and great choices.

Alternatively, IMO you might start with:

Carrie (his 1st novel)

Misery (best-written) or

Tommyknockers (my favorite)

I read the Mr Mercedes, Finders Keepers, End of Watch trilogy recently. 

 

There’s also that Dark Tower series. I read Gunslinger and got out.

That was Stephen King? The movie was great. At least the first half because that's all I saw. 

 

The Hunger Games phenomenon was a joke. It was a blatant rip off of other stuff.
