As far as NFL is concerned the pre-game show lasts about two hours anyway of which this takes about 2 minutes whether you agree with it or not so it's no biggy as far as I'm concerned. The other awesome thing about American Football is that you can drink beer in your seat so I'd just grab another cold one and not give a shit. Booze is totally banned in UK soccer stadiums anywhere where you have a view of the pitch because we're all animals and can't be trusted not to kill each other.

Doesn’t matter. People don’t watch sports to get political statements from the players or anyone. People just want to enjoy the game.

May I assume that tailgating is not a uniquely American thing then? Because it sounds like you guys will just get pissed up in the parking lot to try and last the whole match. 120 minutes until stoppage time or whatever bullshit soccer does.

Tailgating isn't a thing but we'll usually spend all morning in the pub before a 3pm game. You can buy booze in the concourse but you just can't take it to your seat for some fucking stupid reason. Even in the executive box they have to literally close the blinds so you can't see the field if they're serving drinks as part of hospitality. It's fucking ridiculous.  Not that it affects me as I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than watch (UK) football.
