Facebook/Reddit/Twitter have killed web forums. So many fringe web forums I use to visit or lurk 5-10 years ago are ghost towns now.

 

More interest obviously=more traffic for GN'R forums, but I don't think it'd be that huge. This place in particular probably wouldn't see as much new traffic, it'd all go to the bigger forum with better google search placement.

 

I think leaks would probably create more forum traffic than a reunion. I've lurked/posted on other GN'R forums, but the Going Down leak brought me here.

According to Dish Nation, a reunion tour of the classic lineup of GUNS N' ROSES is "close to being revealed." The band will supposedly headline several major festivals in Europe and U.S. before embarking on a worldwide headlining tour to mark GN'R's 30th anniversary.

Former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash recently said that he and GUNS lead singer Axl Rose had repaired their estranged relationship after nearly 20 years, immediately leading to a storm of speculation about a possible reunion of the classic GUNS lineup.

A "music insider" told Dish Nation: "Slash and Axl have verbally agreed to get things together again and reform the original band. The live shows is where they can show the world what they had and also make the greatest earnings.

"Promoters are quietly working away to land opportunities. Details of the reunion are expected to leak out in the next few days. Everyone is expecting huge demand for tickets, but the boys are very humble and are not sure what to expect."

According to other reports, the band was already approached about playing shows in Australia, Portugal and Sweden.

In other news, a longtime friend of ex-GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan's wife Susan Holmes-McKagan, Brandi Glanville, told a paparazzi reporter during a night out: "GUNS N' ROSES is coming back, motherfuckers!"

Rose is the only original member of GUNS N' ROSES still in the current lineup, which has toured intermittently since 2006 and played its second Las Vegas residency last year.

The closest anyone came to a GUNS reunion in recent memory was when the band was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2012. Three original members of the band, including Slash, Duff McKagan and drummer Steven Adler, showed up, but Axl and guitarist Izzy Stradlin were no-shows.

At the time Slash said in several interviews that the Hall Of Fame ceremony gave him a sense of "closure."

GUNS N' ROSES recently parted ways with guitarists DJ Ashba and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal.

Will be interesting to see what happens with traffic, ad revenue, moderation, etc.

Will be a lot of new eyeballs and new posters.

There will be a boom, but a lot of bans wil happen

 

Besides that, the people who thought GNR is dead in 1996 will register and the forums became more pro classic GNR... most of the tension will came when posters starts talkin' about the CD lineups...

Axl will be sounding shit, half of the userbase will quit

Having no idea who EmilyGNR is or what her normal posts consist of, that could just be Emily or Maribeth copy/pasting something the other person said.
No it's def "Jim", trust me. :lol:. When jb linked the thread from htgth of Fernando calling out mags, I noticed it on the spot. She types and replies in the exact same style. It ain't a copy and paste job either, it's clearly just the same lunatic.
