Have heard that.

Martin is just super one dimensional for me, particularly on Forbidden.

Iommi should have gotten Ice T to do the whole album (not really).

Never been a fan of Sabbath with Murray and Powell.

Tony Martin is just so fucking bland.

I do enjoy Cross Purposes quite a bit though, don't mind his vocals on that.

Headless Cross isn't a masterpiece or anything but the title track in all of its cheesemetal glory outclasses anything on Forbidden and 13 imo

H&H a bit too low imo but not everyone likes dio sabbath

good list

good list

13 is a pile of turd-I'd have put it last but the Iommi/Butler combo wouldn't let me.

The 70s albums are all pretty much golden for me, not much between them besides TE being clear in 8th place.

And that's not necessarily a pro Ozzy argument-I just think the direction of the band in the 70s outshines any of the HEAVY METAL stuff.

I can see the argument for Heaven and Hell being higher but I couldn't place it any better than 7, behind the first 6 albums and ahead of NSD and TE.

H&H is obviously a very cohesive and vital album, but it's D&D/NWOBHM thing isn't as universal as the 70s stuff IMO.

I'm not a Priest fanatic, but I'll make the analogy of putting British Steel over Sad Wings of Destiny.

Next to the first 8 albums I like Born Again the most (closest to that feel) but I can recognise that it isn't as strong as H&H.

Dehumanizer would actually be my favorite Dio fronted Sabbath record.

Seventh Star is half great and half shit, that's a pretty overlooked album of "theirs"

Right up there with White Lion and Europe.

Hardly. Personally, I can`t stomach almost Power Metal shit they put out with fucking Dio with his dungeons and Dragons Metal trash.

@Doctor Dom

Have you heard the ep The End that was released during the tour? I've not heard it but every review I've seen says that the 4 studio songs on it all shit on the songs on 13

Yeah I have and I don't think much of it at all. Ozzy really drags them down, the riffs are great and more "original" than on the album itself but it sounds like Iommi and Ozzy if you dig...

At first glance, I thought my list would be completely different. But the more I thought about it, there's nothing to change...maybe swap Ozzmosis and No Rest For The Wicked?

That's a fair call, No Rest is definitely a more cohesive album, where Ozzmosis is all over the place with the different writing teams.

No Rest is sort of like the last "Ozzy" album in a way.

My ACB ranking would be the same...

Solo...

I'd put Dirty Diamonds above The Last Temptation and Raise Your Fist and Yell above Goes To Hell.

My bottom 2 would be Trash & Hey Stoopid.

Half of Dirty Diamonds is awesome.

I'm not real keen on any of those albums on my list from Trash on down though most have at least one great number on them.

Give me Trash over The Eyes of...maybe I should give it a relisten but from memory it's like a Blink 182 album fronted by Alice?

I do like the ballad Be With You A While on it.

Ha, never saw the movie clip until just now. :D

Yeah as a standalone album I would rate it lower, but as a soundtrack for the movie I thought it was really well done.

The Batman soundtrack album is actually pretty good, I'd wager the joe six pack who likes rock music would more than likely prefer it to Sign o the Times.

Batman definitely has a harder edge, save maybe The Arms of Orion.

That movie and album were huge for me back then, one of the first albums I got.

Dunno man, never really got how Prince and Batman went together...I think Burton just had it imposed on him too and worked the songs in as best he could.

I like the album a lot, I don't see how it's an appropriate soundtrack to that film.
