  1. I saw on wiki yesterday his name has apparently being added to their Facebook page or something to that effect as a member again.

Still seems a bit anti-climactic if he can't make it.

yeah i saw that but the announcement only said ozzy/geezer/tony were playing but who knows maybe a special surprise? that would be cool but i just dont think bill will be their IMO the last last announcement sabbath gave about bill was they were going on without him, which is sad i want an original sabbath reunion especially since ronnie died, the last chance to hear the the original 4 make a new album especially now that tony has cancer :(

  2. For some reason I'm just getting around to listening to Beyond Magnetic. Hate Train so far is better than almost the entire DM album.

    YOU TOOK AWAY TOMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORROWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

EDIT: omg that melodic part of Just a Bullet Away

    omg Rebel of Babylon

These 4 songs put together shit all over Death Magnetic.

yeah the beyond magnetic EP was decent the best thing metallica has done since AJFA IMO.

  3. love metal, evey sub genre of metal minus anything core and nu metal. metalcore is the worst fucking avenged sevenfold and bullet for my valentine are god awful

Do I honestly need to keep reminding people that Bullet and Avenged are not metalcore? Killswitch Engage is not even metalcore and yes Avenged and Bullet do suck.

bullet, killswitch, avenged seven fold are metalcore. avenged seven fold in their earlier stuff were but on their last album they switched their sound to more to hard rock sounding.

  4. like i said the night of the performance the biggest news was axl not being there.

Yep. Was the big news seriously that Adler was on drums again? Come on now.

Look, the clips I saw sounded good, real good. I just question both the overall demand for such a tour, and whether those guys themselves even want to do it. I doubt they would. I'm not sure they want to do dueling Guns N Roses tours like those old 50s and 60s bands that tour these days with 2 completely separate line-ups, each that hate the other.

yeah i agree, i dont think adler would make a whole tour.

  5. The reality is that no one is really talking about this supposedly legendary HOF performance with Myles. Its just not happening.

Now, once the special airs on HBO, does this change? Maybe. But I doubt it.

I just think some perspective is important here. There is not going to be worldwide demand for the group of guys that performed that night to tour the world. Just not going to happen. And I'm not sure how much the guys would be interested in it, frankly. They all have their own stuff going on. They are going to put that all on hold to do their own GNR greatest hits tour?

I know inevitably that someone will tell me that there is no worldwide demand for Axl's current line-up. I don't disagree, but that's not the point here. The narrative that "everyone" is all about the guys that performed at the HOF is just not real world.

like i said the night of the performance the biggest news was axl not being there.

  6. i agree the majority would still vote for a reunion over the current gnr but it would be much closer 55/45 or 60/40

    Umm .. hello?

Do I understand correctly that you are saying that the "non-TMZish fans" would reflect statistical numbers such as 55/45 or 60/40 preferring a reunion vs the current hack jobs?

Really? You think the numbers would be anywhere that close?

I'm thinking they would have to do a poll of the fans standing on the rails of a GN'R show to get a number that high.

    :rofl-lol:

first the poll the was nothing to do with reunion it was asked "who was guns n roses" the hall of fame band or axls band on a tmz website. if aerosmith broke up tomorrow and steven tyler hired a new band and went on as aerosmith and tmz asked who is aerosmith steven tyler or joe perry do you think in that poll steven would get less than 70%? of course not its TMZ they wont even know who the fuck joe perry is, but they will vote steven tyler since he is on american idol, he is doing weird commercials. same goes with black sabbath. if ozzy hired a bunch of musicians called him self sabbath while geezer/ward/iommi went on as sabbath and tmz posted a poll asking who is sabbath ozzy would at least get 70% why? because he is the bumbling, guy picking up dogshit off his carpet, cant figure out how to work a tv, screaming sharon every 10 seconds, he is the reality tv show dad.

same goes with slash. he is the glittering top hat wearer who played with the black eyed peas, played with ke$ha. he is playing with people that appeal to the tmz crowd, not saying its bad or good just thats what he does. the tmz crowd wouldnt know gnr minus a handful of songs, when gnr broke up they werent even born or were too young to know. if you asked the fan base as a whole, the new band is part of the fan base whether people like or not, and the old school i would guess that it would come out a 60/40 split on a reunion.

  7. That's true, the poll itself represents opinion and not fact.. However, it is indeed a fact that an overwhelmingly large number of people polled on the subject believe the HOF lineup to be the real GNR.

    I absolutely agree.

I'm a little confused as to why people think 25% is a good number. If I was an Axl or nuGuns fan I'd be disappointed. Considering he has gone out of his way to distance himself from the original band, has owned the name for about 2 decades, has made several trips around the globe touring as Guns, put out a new album as GNR, and Slash has been gone for over 15 years, it seems like his efforts still aren't recognized or appreciated in the general public eye.

Well, it's not a good number ordinarily. It's just a lot bigger than I expected. Here in LA, you'd be hard-pressed to find anybody who would vote for Axl's band. 1 in 4 is spectacular compared to what I'd ordinarily think.

    It's all relativity.

and i agree especially with coming from the source of the poll. tmz is a celeb worshiping entity. slash has played with the black eyed peas, with michael jackson in the past and other non rock mainstream musicians, been on the cover of guitar hero etc these people dont give a shit about gnr most of these people only care about who slash played with most of these people wouldny know more than 5 songs by gnr. i say 25% is pretty fucking good

And who exactly do you think the paying audience is? Is it the approximatley 150 nerds who post on fan forums, or a majority of people who only know and care about those 5 or so songs?

The poll was the exact demographic of who attends those shows. It's the folks who make bathroom and beer runs when tunes like SOD or TIL starts, and then lose their minds during SCOM and PC.

So many years spent trying to prove he's Gun N Roses, and all Axl has to show for it is basically a 25% approvbal rating. I wouldn't call that good at all.

its also the same group that makes beer runs and bathroom runs if gnr ever played coma, locomotive, breakdown, bad apples, right next door to hell. these voters are the celeb worshipers they know slash as "the guy in the top hate playing with the black eyed peas at the superbowl."

  8. Polls are faulty because it doesn't represent the demographic of the entire population just selected. You'd get varying results by selected groups. I am actually not sure why people find them reliable.

You do know what a sample is, don't you?

Right, but they took a sample from a certain demographic of people. I really doubt many hardcore rock/metal fans voted. Just the demographic of people that have an interest in TMZ, which would be people interested in Snooki's/Lindsay Lohan's/Selena Gomez's life. Nothing wrong with it. Just different demographics.

Which makes it even more amazing that 1 in 4 of people in this demographic voted for Axl.

All that said, I really hope nobody's denying that the majority of people want a reunion...

exactly right. its not rock n roll fans its people who worship celebs who follow what snooki ate and what color justin biebers under wear color is, its not rock n roll fans. i agree the majority would still vote for a reunion over the current gnr but it would be much closer 55/45 or 60/40
